Action for Refugee Life (AReL) is a community-based organization dedicated to empowering refugee youth in Kakuma through technology education. Our programs provide vital skills to enhance employability and foster self-reliance. We are seeking a dynamic, and proactive Programs Associate to support the successful delivery of our training programs.

Role Overview
The Programs Associate supports the successful planning, implementation, and evaluation of AReL’s training, Job placement and mentorship programs. This role focuses on coordinating student activities, managing program logistics, tracking progress, and ensuring programs quality. The Programs Associate works closely with instructors, students, and industry partners to ensure smooth program delivery and maximum impact.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Coordination & Student Support
Assist in organizing training schedules, workshops, and mentorship sessions.
Support student onboarding, attendance tracking, and progress monitoring.
Serve as a point of contact for students, addressing their concerns and guiding them through the training process.
Ensure students adhere to program rules, deadlines, and project submissions.

2. Curriculum & Training Support
Work with instructors to ensure effective course delivery and identify areas for improvement.
Assist in coordinating guest lectures, industry speaker sessions, and knowledge-sharing events.
Support the development of learning materials and digital resources for students.


3. Program Monitoring & Reporting
Track student progress, attendance, and project submissions.
Assist in collecting feedback from students and instructors to improve program quality.
Prepare weekly and monthly reports on program performance.

4. Internship & Job Placement Support
Work with the Job Placement Manager to track student readiness for employment.
Assist in coordinating internship placements and job interview preparations.
Maintain records of student employment and alumni engagement.

5. Event & Logistics Coordination
Assist in planning graduation ceremonies, career fairs, and networking events.
Ensure the availability of learning materials, IT resources, and program infrastructure.

Requirements and Qualifications
Must be a registered refugee living in Kakuma.
Having a bachelor’s degree or Diploma in education, Program Management, IT, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience in education, training coordination, or youth development programs.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with diverse groups, including students, instructors, and industry partners.
The Programs Associate plays a crucial role in ensuring AReL’s training programs run smoothly, effectively, and with measurable impact, helping young refugees gain the skills they need for employment.
