Creating Access - AReL Partners With Give Internet To Bridge The Digital Divide For Refugee Students

Empowering Through Access: Going Beyond Education To Create Pathways To The Digital World For Refugees

At Action for Refugee Life (AReL), we recognize that education is just one facet of the broader journey to empowerment. While gaining knowledge is pivotal, many refugees face substantial barriers post-education, primarily stemming from a need for more resources and Access. These obstacles often hinder the practical application of their newfound skills. Our core mission is to ensure refugees have a sustainable and self-reliant future, addressing their educational needs and bridging the gaps that arise afterward. Our holistic approach to programs emphasizes this, with our tailored, on-campus digital training courses being just the beginning. We're committed to providing refugees with industry-specific skills and the necessary tools, leading to successful job placements and entrepreneurial endeavors.

An Exciting Collaboration

Today, we're excited to announce our partnership with Give Internet under their "Laptop And Internet Scholarship For A Student In Need" initiative. This collaboration addresses a critical challenge in our mission: the digital divide.

Thanks to Give Internet, our students will receive:

  • Internet Subscriptions (WiFi)
  • Routers for consistent connectivity
  • Laptops to facilitate learning

About Give Internet

In a world where 1.1 billion students lack internet access, and an alarming 67% are girls, Give Internet steps in as a beacon of hope. Their mission is simple yet profound: to enable sponsors to provide internet access and laptops for students in need. This initiative empowers students with the tools they need to access global knowledge and equal opportunities.

Learn more about Give Internet's innovative platform and how it empowers refugees, FDPs, or other marginalized and disconnected groups globally by visiting their website https://giveinternet.org/

Why This Partnership Matters

AReL's multifaceted programs encompass a comprehensive journey from enrollment to job placement. Our courses, from Digital Marketing to Web Development and Data Analytics, equip refugees with the skills demanded in today's digital age. However, our students require reliable internet access and the necessary hardware to learn and apply these skills effectively.

This partnership with Give Internet directly supports our outcomes:

  • Trained Refugees: Facilitating skills acquisition in domains such as Digital Marketing and Web Development.
  • Hired Refugees: Enhancing the potential of placing refugees in remote job opportunities.
  • Entrepreneurship: Empowering refugees to initiate or scale their ventures in the digital domain.

Looking Ahead

With the support of Give Internet, we're equipping our students with skills and providing them with the tools they need to leverage those skills to their fullest potential. We're taking a significant stride towards our vision of a self-sufficient refugee community by bridging the digital divide.

We remain deeply grateful to our partners and supporters. Together, we're making a tangible impact, one student at a time.
